Who we are

Unity of Hagerstown began in September of 2007 as a study group.  Meeting weekly to discuss such books as Deepak Chopra's "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" and Neal Donald Walsh's "Happier than God", this group soon starting having regular Sunday Services as well.  Through music, meditation and inspiring words we refuel our souls.  Through coming together, we form community.

About Our Spiritual Leader-
   Sandy Boyer, L.U.T.

I grew up in a church, where I would count how many yawns I had during the sermon.  As a young adult, I often said that nature was my church, as I hiked outside on Sunday mornings.  While I was in my thirties, I found myself missing a spiritual community.  I didn't know what I wanted exactly, just knew that I had to look.  Ideally, I wanted something where the people were welcoming, where I could make a difference, a church that was all-inclusive, that had alot of interesting classes and events going on, and that did not take themselves too seriously, or words too literally.  I visited many churches, before finding a Unity church.  Upon visiting Unity for the first time, I knew I had found what I was searching for.  Like-minded folks coming together create a wonderful support system that helps out everybody.  I became a Licensed Unity Teacher in November 2006, and am currently working on my Masters of Divinity.

Love those about you in a practical way; pay no attention to what others are doing, in so far as to make comparisons.
